Not as strong a backpacking store as REI or Adventure 16 but they do have equipment rental and the necessary expendables one needs for that quick run for items you just have to have quickly.
Plus points:
- The strongest point for this store is the proximity to Placentia.
- Being so close and offering basic offerings of backpack rentals and expendables makes this a strong positive point especially if you calculate drive time to REI and Adventure 16 and gas costs.
- Part of your last two days gear rental charges goes to purchase of new gear (must be same gear type as what was rented).
- Scout masters get a discount only.
Negative points:
- They do not offer discounts to assistant scout masters, scouts or parents. The store offerings are just not as deep as REI or Adventure 16.
- There are very few sales and discounts on backpacking essentials as compared to REI and Adventure 16.
